St. Helen's Lighthouse.

St Helen's is located on the north side of the entrance to Bembridge Harbour on the east coast of the Isle of Wight.

The has been a light exhibited from St. Helen's Fort for some considerable time. The Napoleonic fort lies just off shore and was built as a defence against the French. Once a year at exceptional low spring tides the locals walk out and around the fort and back again.

At the northern end of the beach are the remains of St. Helen's Church, most of which fell into the sea in 1550. The remaining wall has been whitewashed and is used as a day mark, however with the remains of the building attached, empty windows and weather vane on top it makes an enchanting sight.
