Detailed Plans

All these plans were carefully copied and compared to the originals by Russell Webber, of St. Erth, a good number of years ago. They were produced on A2 size paper (16.5 inches by 23.4 inches) and have been scanned and reduced in size for the benefit of this history but they have turned out to be the most valuable piece of research I have seen. Thank you Russell.

CRO R90A - Scale 10 fathoms to 1 inch. 1855 – West Alfred Consols – showing New Engine Shaft; Old Engine Shaft and Mellanear Row Cottages (Tolroy by today’s name) and Philips Shaft and Fields Shaft. These last two are part of the Mellanear Mine worked under the name of West Alfred Consols but I concentrate only on the Tolroy map.
